This is a popular sport-fishing region famous for giant salmon and monster halibut. Secure moorage is readily available minutes away in the harbour at Port Renfrew. Further down the coast, both Sombrio Beach and Jordan River are well-known locales much favoured by hardy surfers.

Nature's Wonder

Tree-top eagles

The area is home to abundant wildlife in both the forests and the sea. Migrating gray whales, pods of orcas, sea-lions and seals can all be viewed from the point. Black bears live here, and resident bald eagles, who have built a massive nest high in a treetop close to the water.

Untouched coastal splendor

San Juan Point surfMarking the Canadian side of the entrance to Juan de Fuca Strait, perched on the south-west coast of Vancouver Island a stone's throw from Port Renfrew lies San Juan Point, 8.36 acres of scarce, untouched old-growth Pacific coastal forest boasting over 1800 feet of rugged, wave-swept oceanfront. This is the only remaining privately-owned, open-Pacific oceanfront anywhere between Bamfield to the north-west, and Jordan River to the south-east, a distance of over 80 kilometres. All else has now been included in either Juan de Fuca Provincial Park or Pacific Rim National Park.

West Coast Old Growth

There has been a recent survey of the gazetted road into the property. This unique parcel offers endless possibilities limited only by your imagination, enjoys prime winter stormwatching, and could easily become an ecotourism paradise.
